Happy birthday!

Today is my primary school friend's birthday. All of a sudden I'm just reminded of how we used to quarrel so much when we were young. We would be unhappy with each other because she would tell me about things that she disliked about me. I guess my primary school years were the most colourful in a sense that there was more drama.

Now, I question myself whether the so called dullness of the other stages of my life good. Did I lose straight forward and honest friends or did we just learn about tact and politics more? Is this growing up good or bad?

I've asked myself this at every juncture of my life but I still can't answer my own question.
